HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TEAM- A Note From Lou
June 28 2018
Again this year I am forming a team to help build a Habitat house. We will be part of a coalition of 30 other churches known as the “Faith House”. The house will be constructed at 3223 Emmet Street. The family that will own the house is mom and dad, Grace and Lino, and their six children. They are immigrants from Sudan.
Our coalition will begin work on Saturday, August 4. We will complete the house in mid- December. Please give serious consideration to joining our team. First Central workdays will be Saturday, August 11 and Saturday October 27. You do not have to be an accomplished carpenter to work on our team. We will train you on the job. Not only is this an opportunity to help a deserving family own a home, but you can also learn some new skills. What a deal!!!
If building a house is not on your to-do list, then you could help us with a donation. Although most of the labor is donated for a Habitat house, they still incur about $160,000 in costs for materials and some skilled labor. Habitat would like our coalition to contribute as much of that $160,000 as possible. I have asked the Outreach Ministry for a contribution from their budget and Pat and I will make a substantial donation. If you would like to make a donation for this, please send a check to church and note on it that it is for the Habitat house.
If you want to join our team, please give me a call at 402-672-2019 or email me at email@example.com.
If you would like more information, please talk to me or even better to John or Bonnie Austin who have been longtime Habitat volunteers, not just in Omaha but all over the world.
