First Central Congregational Church is an Open & Affirming family that welcomes any thoughtful person on a spiritual journey. We have deep roots in midtown Omaha and in the living United Church of Christ tradition. Our congregation – from the 5-year-olds to the 95-year-olds – thrives on thoughtful dialogue about what contemporary Christianity really means for each of us. Anyone with an open mind and an open heart is welcome to explore what First Central is all about.

Want to join us for worship livestream?  Here is the link to our YouTube channel.

Worshiping with us in person?  Here’s some logistical information.  You can park in the parking lot on the west side of the building, across 36th Street, on Sunday mornings.  There are no fees before 2 PM. Handicapped parking is available curbside on 36th Street.  The main sanctuary doors on 36th street are the best place to enter.  Ramps give access to our building for those who need them, and we provide large print bulletins and a hearing assistance system.

Nursery care is also available for preschoolers during our adult education programming, First Forum, and the worship service, though children are welcome to remain in worship. The Nursery is located on the 1st floor and is staffed Sunday mornings from 9:15-11:45.

We are committed to being Open and Affirming of LGBTQ+ people, accessible to all abilities and disabilities, WISE (welcoming, inclusive, supportive, and engaged) for mental health, and anti-racist.

If this Sunday is your first time at First Central, know that you are our special guest. We hope our progressive thinking and vintage style resonate with you.

Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.

Adult Education is at 9:15 a.m.

Children’s Education is during our worship time.
