The Good Life – Retreat Recap & Gallery May 3, 2017 | News The Good Life Except for canceling the softball game, the clouds and rain and chilly temps did not frustrate our annual all church retreat at Platte River State Park last weekend. Over seventy people participated in a weekend of rest, fellowship, fun, and activities focused on the unique culture of Nebraska. Friday night the youth provided a pizza supper, and Grant Switzer DJed a dance. Even dogs joined in. On Saturday morning Michael Fitzsimmons led a drum circle enjoyed by toddlers and octogenarians and everyone in between. Children fed the ducks and fish. Afternoon activities included tie dyeing bandanas, building our own Carhenge, sampling Nebraska beers, and the egg drop contest. On Saturday night we learned to square dance. We explored the theology of the plains, and Katie led worship on Sunday morning. As usual Pete Peterson and his crew fed us well. And we all snacked to our tummies’ content. —
