Dear members of First Central Congregational, UCC, Omaha,

On behalf of the United Church of Christ Mental Health Network, we are grateful to you for hosting the first national WISE Conference at your church on Friday, March 31, 2017.  Not only that, but you are the second congregation in the UCC to vote to be a WISE (Welcoming, Inclusive, Supportive and Engaged) Congregation for Mental Health.  You have shown leadership and have taken active steps to actually embody the WISE covenant.

Especially we appreciated the participation of Scott Jones and Kerrie Kleppin-Winn on the Planning Team.  Their direction and engagement made the Conference go smoothly and made all those who attended feel the warm hospitality of the church.

We appreciated the worship leadership of Katie Miller and we ask that you extend our gratitude to all those who attended to the registration table, who did all the set up, and to those who offered the very appropriate snacks and the excellent luncheon. Food is always a welcome ingredient to a well-run conference!

The beauty of your sanctuary was just what was needed as we began the conference and the abundance of meeting rooms provided what was needed for our conversations and workshops.

Again, on behalf of the UCC Mental Health Team, we sincerely thank you for your courageous invitation for us to meet with you in your church.  It worked very well.

Our best to you,

Rev. Alan Johnson

Chair, UCC MHN board of directors
